        • The challenge for this course was to provide easy methods for the students to gain good and valuable aural skills with a minimal amount of theory training prior to college.
        • Styles used in teaching these classes included sing backs, pointing, and a quasi Schenkerian approach to analyzing melodic and harmonic dictation to provide tools for better dictation skills
